Columbia Place
Imagine a neighborhood rich with the conveniences of contemporary cosmopolitan living but tempered by a sense of quality and materials that only comes form tradition and experience. On Chicago's north side that balance is now being realized, crafted, and brought to life. Elegant rowhomes, a circle of beautiful townhomes, a new park...a new tradition. Columbia Place, a Chicago neighborhood, and the homes that grow there.
The Elm Tower
What do the Elm Tower and Style Moderne have in common? Elegance. Sophistication. Craftsmanship. Cosmopolitan sensibilities. Natural harmonies. Rising from the corner of Elm and Dearborn - in Chicago's historic and luxurious Gold Coast, the Elm Tower combines the charm of Chicago's early 1900 co-op buildings with the modern conveniences that the discriminating buyer of the new millennium has come to expect. 16 stories of exquisite space with a total of only 39 units.
210 East Walton
Seeing the potential of a neglected building in a prestigious location, JDL created five custom condominium homes
inside a Benjamin Marshall-designed building from the 1920s. The five homes at the property - originally built as the
servants' quarters for the adjoining building - have different dimensions and designs that range from traditional
to ultramodern. Custom millwork and fine materials, including granite slab flooring and stainless steel staircases,
reflect each client's individual style and tastes.
Lakeview Corners
Working with Stanley Tigerman, JDL transformed a neighborhood eyesore into a distinctive commercial space
housing its own offices and five homes that range from 1800 to more than 3000 square feet.
1600 Greenbay Road
JDL brought its custom design and construction expertise to a multi-family development in the North Shore community of
Highland Park. The 16 condominium homes at the site are designed to appeal to people accustomed to living in fine
single-family residences and emphasize privacy and spaciousness - owner-controlled elevators open directly into the
foyer of each residence. With its Tudoresque exterior, the building complements the architectural heritage of its
surroundings and has earned favorable comments from its neighbors and the local building commission.
Garden Homes on Paulina
On a site that demanded a creative solution, JDL developed 18 townhomes that earned the surrounding community's
approval and support. Designed by JDL in-house, the property includes an underground garage, unique for a townhome
development, that provides two parking spaces for each home and helps control neighborhood parking problems.
The first-rate materials and finishes that are used offer purchasers the quality and features they desire, without
requiring costly upgrades.
