How can an urban superstore succeed in the heart of one of Chicago's premiere neighborhoods? When the Home Depot
approached JDL with just such a challenge, JDL responded with a groundbreaking design for a new 'neighborhood style'
store -- and delivered the development experience and expertise to build it. The result: Home Depot's first two-level
store and a new plan for the urban retail shopping experience. The extensive use of glass and
anodized aluminum windows in the Halsted Street façade add a vitality to the streetscape and make the store
a very real part of the dynamic and ever-growing Lincoln Park neighborhood.

JDL's first commercial development was at a highly visible location in one of the world’s premier shopping districts. At
555 North Michigan Avenue (Michigan Avenue and Ohio Street), retailers can find three prime retail locations, totaling
50,000 square feet, in a building that maintains the look and scale of the original Michigan Avenue.
