JDL Development was founded in 1994 by president Jim Letchinger -- with a vision of redefining a homeowner's experience in purchasing a new residence. Jim felt that the relationship homebuyers had with their developers was too often wrought with stress and frustration: "buying a home is the most important purchase someone will ever make -- I want it to be a fun, enjoyable experience, from start to finish." As a result, customer satisfaction and happiness is the number one priority at JDL: "We spend a lot of time with our clients, allowing them to make important choices in their design and their finishes. We want to help transform the houses they buy into the homes they will live in."

JDL's first projects were smaller residential ones: custom homes and condominium redevelopment, each distinguished by their attention to detail, and their unique sense of materials, lighting and space. As JDL's reputation grew, larger projects became possible: rowhomes, townhomes, and commercial properties. Now, with the recent completion of The Elm Tower, and the development of Maple Tower and Columbia Place, JDL has taken its projects to, literally, new heights: high rises that are redefining luxury gold coast living and a new neighborhood that is taking root in Lakeview.

With a dedicated staff of 15, including two in-house architects and one interior designer, JDL works to consistently deliver on its promise of exceptional design, quality, and customer service.
